NGO Decries Animal Abuse After X-Ray Reveals Stray Dog Was Shot 20 Times With BB Gun
Unfortunately, the dog escaped the vet clinic and they're looking to bring it in for medical attention again.
A pet rescue group in Selangor found a dog with multiple BB gun bullets embedded in its body two weeks ago
The pet rescue group, KC Valley, which is a non-government organisation, said they received a distress call about a dog that was too injured to move and immediately went to locate it in Kampung Bukit Changgang, Banting to bring it for medical attention on 30 June.
At the vet, it was discovered that the dog was shot multiple times by a BB gun and the X-ray revealed that it had over 20 plastic bullets still lodged in its body, with the wounds becoming infected.
The action was decried by the pet rescue group, whose staff have made a police report about the case of animal abuse
"This poor boy was found at death's door due to the malicious cruelty of humans," said the NGO, requesting anyone with any information regarding the potential culprit who shot the dog to contact them.
In the meantime, the pet rescue group said the vet will keep the dog under its care for the slow removal of the bullets, as it was very weak.
The NGO has also requested followers to help donate as it estimates the veterinary bill for the stray dog, who they have named Changgang Boy, would cost a total of RM9,000.
The fees are not only for the removal procedure, but also for deworming and neutering, as well as the pet taxi they took to transport it to the vet.
Unfortunately, in an update this week, the NGO said Changgang Boy has escaped the vet clinic he was sent to in SS15, Subang Jaya
"Dear animal lovers, please help find Changgang Boy. This dog is injured badly due to being shot by BB gun. We are all concerned about his safety and health," said the rescuers.
They have been trying to find and retrieve the dog for further medical attention since it escaped the vet on Sunday, 9 July.
