Speaking to FMT, Uma Rani Restaurant owner K Ramalingam said the incident happened at about 4am this morning. “Eight customers came in a group to have their breakfast. After 10 minutes, a man walked into the restaurant and started shooting at my customers.
“One customer, an Indian man, died on the spot and four others were left injured. The other three people ran away when the assailant started firing shots,” he said.
Asked if it was an incident sparked by gang or business rivalry, Ramalingam declined to comment on the matter, saying he would leave the matter to the police to investigate. “I have operated this restaurant for 15 years and this is the first time something like has happened,” he said.
According To Sentul Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Zakaria Pagan, Police Are Investigating The Possibility Of A Turf War Between Rival Secret Societies
Zakaria said police recovered seven bullet casings from the crime scene, and the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
