On the 28th of May 2013, 21 people were reported missing after a boat with the capacity of 74 which was overloaded with an estimated 100 passengers capsized in Sungai Rajang, Sarawak. Concerns are raised as boats continue to be overloaded even after the incident.

4 June: 2 men claim they were passengers, police fear fake identity

Two men have lodged police reports in Kapit claiming they were passengers and lost belongings and documents in the express boat tragedy in Sungai Rajang last Tuesday.

2 June: Only 2 still missing, 205 saved

Paulus Ungkang, one of three passengers in the Sungai Rajang boat capsize tragedy still reported missing until yesterday, was today confirmed to be safe in the incident.

31 May: Najib orders detailed investigation on cause of tragedy

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has ordered the relevant authorities to carry out a detailed investigation to determine the cause of the express boat tragedy in Sungai Rajang, Sarawak on Tuesday.

31 May: Belaga police chief says 186 survivors, 12 missing, 1 body found

30 May: Longhouse folks recover body of Tujok Lah

Longhouse folks living at Rh Tevok recovered the body of Tujok Lah at 7am Thursday not far from where an express boat capsized. He was earlier thought to be alive and his name was listed under the survivor list.
