A PAS woman MP has called for stricter enforcement to prevent women from dressing "indecently" in public, in order to curb sexual crimes.

This was the assessment by Pas’ Rantau Panjang member of parliament Siti Zailah Mohd Yusoff, who said that indecent dressing had become a norm among young women here.

Siti Zailah took a swipe at women who wore short pants, labelling them indecent. She also believed that stewardesses’ uniforms were “too tight”.

Siti Zailah Mohd Yusoff (PAS-Rantau Panjang) told the Dewan Rakyat that short pants and short dresses were “among the factors” for such crimes.

“This culture of women wearing short pants… it is indecent. Take for example the dressing of stewardess,”

Addressing the Dewan Rakyat yesterday, she said this was not helped by the government’s insistence on bringing in international artistes, whom she claimed set a bad example.

Siti Zailah felt Barisan Nasional had contributed to the indecent dressing phenomenon through its association with Korean (K-Pop) artistes. "Maybe this is because BN leaders are bringing in artistes from Korea," she said .
