According To Pakatan Rakyat Secretary-General, Barisan Nasional Keeps Sabah And Sarawak Poor To Control Them
Poverty is Barisan Nasional's main weapon in keeping Sabah and Sarawak in its fold, while Parti Keadilan Rakyat is working on strategies to wean the various ethnic communities there off their dependence on the ruling coalition, its leaders said.

"Why Are The Poverty Levels High In Sabah And Sarawak When Both States Are Rich In Natural Resources?"
"Why are the poverty levels high in Sabah and Sarawak when both states are rich in natural resources? When the people are poor, they will naturally be attracted to Barisan Nasional which gives out gifts and handouts such as BR1M (1Malaysia People's Aid)," Saifuddin told The Malaysian Insider.
