Police Arrest 2 Men For Hiding Air Ketum In Food Delivery Bag
One of the suspects admitted to borrowing the bag from a friend.
On 2 November, two men who hid packages of air ketum inside a food delivery bag were detained in Jinjang, Kuala Lumpur
Sentul police chief ACP S Shamugamoorthy Chinniah told Bernama that two men were riding a motorcycle when patrolmen instructed them to stop at around 9.30pm.
The suspects instead made a U-turn and rode against the traffic flow towards Jinjang.
The police gave chase and caught the suspects when they collided with a vehicle
The food delivery bag on the motorcycle was inspected and four green packages containing air ketum were found.
According to The Star, one of the suspects admitted to borrowing the delivery bag from another friend in an attempt to deceive the authorities during a roadblock.
The case is being investigated under Section 30(3) of the Poisons Act 1952
ACP Shamugamoorthy said that the method used by the suspects to carry and deliver drugs using food delivery bags was detected by the police during the Movement Control Order (MCO).
He added that another method of delivering air ketum using luxury cars has also been detected.
