Former Bank Negara Governor Zeti Akthar Aziz, Former Attorney-General Abdul Gani Patail, and outgoing Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Chief Abu Kasim Mohamed have been named in a police report filed at the Dang Wangi 1 District Police Headquarters

The police report was filed by Umno Youth VC Khairul Azwan Harun. He alleged that all three of them were involved in "a conspiracy to topple PM Najib and the Malaysian government".

According to a Bernama report, Khairul claims that all three of them, Zeti, Gani, And Kassim, "either separately or jointly, were involved in a conspiracy to topple Najib as the legitimate prime minister as well as the government of Malaysia."

Khairul said that he had his reasons for being convinced that they are providing confidential information and documents to FBI and other agencies in the US.

"The information and documents have been passed on to outsiders without permission from the Malaysian authorities, including the Attorney-General’s Chambers and most of it are fabricated, falsified or manipulated for evil intentions,” said Khairul Azwan.

Claiming it's not baseless accusations, he wants police to investigate the matter.

Describing Khairul's claims as "frivolous allegations" and "publicity seeking stunts with no substance", Abdul Gani Patail said that attempts at character assassination would only trigger a backlash and undermine the government in the long run

Abdul Gani further reiterated that he had always acted professionally in the course of his work and will continue to work professionally in all his future endeavours.

There's fear that, based on the police report, all three of them might be taken in under the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012, which allows an initial detention of up to 28 days without trial

Malaysiakini reported lawyer Syahredzan Johan saying that this is "a serious accusation" and he worries they will be "detained under Sosma because they will be probed under Section 124B of the Penal Code for activity detrimental to parliamentary democracy." He added that he hopes this doesn't happen, though.

The UMNO Youth's police report against Zeti, Gani, and Kassim comes as the US DOJ, in a press conference last week, released information regarding their assets seizure lawsuit linked to 1MDB:
