METMalaysia: Avoid Beaches In Terengganu, Kelantan, And Pahang Due To Dangerous Weather

The Malaysian Meteorological Department has issued a warning on the dangerous conditions affecting the waters in Terengganu, Kelantan, Pahang, and east Johor
According to the warning published on their official Facebook page, people are advised to stay away from affected areas until Wednesday, 12 February.

New Straits Times reported that the impact of the winds could be felt as far as 10km inland, causing trees to sway erratically.
State Civil Defence Force director Lt-Col (PA) Che Adam Abd Rahman said that the strong winds and high waves are not only making it dangerous for the public to stroll along the beaches, but are also unsafe for fishing vessels to go out to sea too.
"The waves are dangerous and can easily sweep away anyone strolling near the beach. People can be easily washed away into the sea by rough waves," he added.
Che Adam also said that his men would be on the alert and respond to any emergency
People are warned to not tempt fate by looking for clams or swim at places that are deemed as safe because the weather conditions affecting the beaches are very dangerous.
