Man In Negeri Sembilan Arrested For Attacking Harmless Pet Dog With Wooden Rod

A man in Lukut, Negeri Sembilan has been apprehended by authorities after a video of him beating a dog went viral

In the four-second video that was shared by Malaysia Animal Association on Sunday, 9 February, a man is seen brutally attacking a dog while it whimpers in pain.

The dog is allegedly the pet of a man named Mersal Kumar.

The Facebook post read, "This cruel act happened in Malaysia. A dog belonging to Mersal Kumar was brutally beaten by two men. Mersal Kumar needs to file a police report. This is a case of animal cruelty. Justice must be served for the sake of the dog that was terribly attacked."

The suspect reportedly attacked two dogs and left them with serious injuries

According to Harian Metro, the attack left a dog named Karupi with head injuries and serious damage to the eye that almost left it blind.

Meanwhile, another dog named Rocky also obtained head injuries.

The dogs are currently receiving intensive care at a veterinary clinic in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan.

Malaysia Animal Association president Arie Dwi Andika said that the suspect is currently under police remand for two days

"I hope that this case has opened everyone's eyes to notify us about any instances of animal cruelty by reaching us on WhatsApp at 011-20901097," he added.

He also mentioned to Harian Metro that the Negeri Sembilan Department of Veterinary Services has been made aware about the incident and is looking to take action.
