Father Of 5 In Penang Dies From Car Crash While Drunk Driver Walks Away Unharmed

A man who was driving a Perodua Alza under the influence of alcohol crashed into a motorcycle carrying a married couple
New Straits Times reported that the incident took place on Sunday, 9 February, at KM140.2 of the North-South Expressway (NSE), northbound, at the exit to Perai, Penang.
39-year-old Khairizul Mohamad Noor died on the spot.
Meanwhile, his wife Zuriana Hasan was rushed to the Seberang Jaya Hospital (HSJ).
Zuriana is currently in critical condition and according to Penang Kini, the two are actually parents to five young children.
A family member, referred to as Khairuddin, told New Straits Times that the couple was on their way home after having dinner with Zuriana's siblings when the accident occurred.
He also mentioned that Zuriana is still unconscious. "She does not know her husband has died," he said.
The 34-year-old Perodua Alza driver was not harmed in the accident
Malay Mail reported that Seberang Perai Tengah district police chief ACP Nik Ros Azhan Nik Abdul Hamid said the man was detained for investigation and a breath test confirmed that he was drunk at the time of driving.
The driver was then transported to HSJ to undergo a blood test so authorities could determine his blood alcohol level.
