PTPTN chairman Wan Saiful Wan Jan said on Monday, 15 July, that those wanting to defer their payments will need to update their income and personal information before 25 July.

This new implementation is in line with Pakatan Harapan's GE14 100-day manifesto that pledged to help ease the financial burden of PTPTN loan defaulters earning less than RM4,000 a month.

How to apply for PTPTN loan deferment:

All you need to do is update your information online through PTPTN's official website.

Step 1: Head to www.ptptn.gov.my and click 'Pengemaskinian Maklumat Pendapat'.

Step 2: Click the link as shown in the image below and sign in to your account.

Step 3: Update the form with your address, phone number, email address, and work details, along with your salary information.

PTPTN will assume that you do not wish to delay the repayment if you fail to update your information within the time frame stipulated, Wan said, according to Free Malaysia Today.

Don't forget to get it done immediately before the closing date on 25 July and share this story with your friends too!

Of course, don't take the deferment for granted and forget to pay. Last month, it was said that PTPTN loan repayments had dropped by RM100 million since Pakatan Harapan's manifesto announcement:
