A marketing gimmick to celebrate the grand opening of a salon in Puchong, Selangor has prompted the police to raid the establishment yesterday, 7 June

AJ Hair Studio, located on Jalan Puteri 7/11 in Bandar Puteri, held its grand opening ceremony on 2 June with a RM1 haircut promotion.

In a Facebook post, the salon shared photos of its first day of business. One of the photos shows a white Ferrari with two women leaning on the luxury car, while other photos show the salon receiving many flower stands.

The salon is run by Thai-speaking Jeyn, who is the Puchong branch director of AJ Hair Studio. Jeyn can be seen busy serving the first batch of customers at the premises in the photos.

However, it was not the RM1 haircut promotion that got Jeyn and the salon into trouble.

Instead, it was photos of slinky-dressed models serving customers that got the salon raided by the police.

Photos of the models serving customers at AJ Hair Studio have since been deleted from its timeline.

"Our shop [doesn't] have special services!" the salon clarified in a Facebook update yesterday.

"[Whoever asks] my shop again, I will screenshot and report [it to the] police."

It noted that the "picture is for funny only".

In a separate update, AJ Hair Studio shared a police report denying that it offers massage services

"Our shop is just a normal hair studio. Don't take my model pictures and share to other groups again and edit the caption (to say that) our shop has special services," it wrote last night.

"The models [are] just our grand opening models. Don't think too much, please. Have a nice day guys!"

In its latest Facebook post today, 8 June, AJ Hair Studio announced that it will broadcast a livestream to clarify everything that has happened over the past few days.

"Thanks for [the] support and those who share the news," it wrote.
