Rafizi Says Invoke Helped Pakatan Harapan Win 42 Seats During GE14
He credited the "historic success" to Invoke's 40,949 volunteers nationwide.
Invoke Malaysia founder Rafizi Ramli revealed that his volunteer organisation helped Pakatan Harapan (PH) win 42 out of 44 parliamentary seats during the recently concluded 14th general election
In a statement published on his website, Rafizi wrote that, "It is a stunning 95% success rate."
The PKR vice-president revealed that the bulk of the 42 seats won by Pakatan Harapan with Invoke's assistance were won by his party
According to the statement, while 32 of the 42 seats were won by PKR, three were won by Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia, and seven were won by Parti Amanah Negara.
The two parliamentary seats that were not won by PH candidates were won by UMNO's Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz and Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein in Padang Rengas and Sembrong, respectively.
Rafizi wrote that, "On record, Invoke was the only pollster that consistently predicted a Harapan win from January 2017 onwards."
Rafizi said that a total of RM11.2 million was spent over the past two years on Invoke Malaysia, with only RM1 million coming out of his own pocket
He explained that, "Since November 2016, the Malaysian public had contributed RM10.2 million to Invoke. The majority of this was through the crowdfunding (RM7.3 million), but we also sold RM1.9 million's worth of tickets to our fundraising events and RM1 million's worth of merchandise (mostly t-shirts and books)."
Rafizi thanked Invoke's 40,949 volunteers nationwide for making it the "largest election volunteer organisation of its kind" in Southeast Asia
"The credit for the whole success of Invoke goes to the Malaysian public who gave my team the trust we needed," he said.
He added that, "Many thousands of volunteers had braved this cultural block to persuade thousands of identified fence-sitters around the country to vote PH, over the course of the last two years."
Rafizi said that despite its "historic success", Invoke still has more to accomplish
"Invoke will move on to focus on other missions that are in line with what we set out to do: to promote and harness grassroots volunteerism for social, economic and political empowerment," he said.
In ending the statement, he wrote, "This is me, Rafizi Ramli, Invoke volunteer #00001 signing out."
