[NEW UPDATE] Rooftop Of Putrajaya Apartment Collapsed: 1 Vehicle Damaged

Facebook users have reported that one of the rooftop of an apartment in Putrajaya's Precinct 15 has just collapsed today (26 June 2013). 'Follow this story' as we source out what happened.

A vehicle was damaged but no one was hurt

Part of the roof of an 18-storey Public Servants Housing apartment block in Precinct 15 was blown off during a thunderstorm on Tuesday evening.

Secretary of the Property Management Division under the Prime Minister’s Department Norazman Othman said a vehicle was damaged but no one was injured in the incident which occurred at 6.30pm.

“Officials from the Public Works Department (JKR) and maintenance contractors arrived at at the scene about 45 minutes later and cordoned off the area,” he said. Norazman said they would be working with JKR to send a report on the incident to the developer Putrajaya Holdings (PJH).

“We will be working with JKR, PJH and the supplier of materials to investigate the roof collapse and give recommendations to prevent such incidents in future,” he said.

“It is too soon to point fingers because we don’t know what exactly caused the incident,” he said. “There is nothing to worry about as inspection has been carried out on other parts of the roof,” he said.

In March 2010, 515 residents was evacuated from Putrajaya government quarters in Precinct 11

Over 500 residents of 76 apartment units of government quarters in Precinct 11 here were evacuated to enable maintenance works to fix cracks and leakages at their premises.
