Approximately 500 people attended the event.
On Sunday, 24 June, former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor attended a Hari Raya event hosted by their friends and supporters
Approximately 500 people attended the function, which was organised by social media activist Daniel Goh and held at The Diplomat KL, according to The Malaysian Insight.
"It was just a gathering to remember his contributions and to cheer him (Najib) up a bit. People chipped in to pay for the event," said former Gerakan and Parti Cinta Malaysia leader Huan Cheng Guan.
"We await your return to lead us. We miss 'zaman Najib' (Najib's time in government)," Goh told the former premier.
Known to occasionally belt out a tune, Rosmah entertained attendees with her rendition of 'Perfect' by Ed Sheeran
The former first lady, who alleged that she earned millions from her own recording album, sang the entirety of the popular 2017 hit while her husband sat nearby.
Not to miss out on a chance to karaoke, Najib sang two songs; 'The Young Ones' by Cliff Richard and Vengaboy's 'Shalala lala'
Attendee JZ Dale Eusoff wrote in a Facebook post that, "I can see how happy Datuk Seri Najib Razak is... seeing us spending raya with him and his family."
"That's what matters; the rest of us still believing in him. We want him back. We missed him so much. He has contributed so much to the nation," he added.
Najib said that he was at a loss for words and expressed his gratitude towards those who came to show him and his wife support. "Thank you to each of you for making this special," he said. The former prime minister also told his supporters that he had big plans to make Malaysia a "first-rate nation" in the event that Barisan Nasional won GE14
He said that, "I had laid out a complete plan from Perlis to Sabah... but unfortunately, due to politics of hate, lies, and false promises, the people were deluded into thinking change was good for us."
He added that, "Is it really a change? (Or do you see a) return of the old policies? Emergence of the old cronies? What change are we talking about?"
"Starting today, we will be together in building a new Malaysia that we can be proud of. Hidup Malaysia!" Najib proclaimed to a cheering crowd.
