At present, students enrolled in a tertiary education institution must pass in three subjects as stipulated by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency. The subjects are Bahasa Malaysia, Malaysian Studies and Islamic Studies for Muslim students or Moral Studies for non-Muslims.
