Watch This Fiery Student Ask PDRM A Million Dollar Question
TangkapMO1 rally spokesperson Anis Syafiqah Mohd Yusof was barred from entering UiTM's Seri Iskandar campus as she wanted to speak about Malaysian Official 1 (MO1).
A student recently gave a fiery speech about matters related to the infamous 'Malaysian Official 1' (MO1) after the police stopped her and her friends from entering UiTM's Seri Iskandar campus
In a video recording that has been circulating on social media lately, a student, who was identified as TangkapMO1 rally spokesperson Anis Syafiqah Mohd Yusof, was seen surrounded by other student activists and police officers outside of the UiTM's Seri Iskandar campus near Ipoh, Perak.
The video began with Anis starting her speech, explaining that she wanted to enter the premise of the university to talk about 'MO1' who was mentioned in the U.S. Department of Justice's (DOJ) lawsuit against 1MDB last month and also about the upcoming rally.
She stressed that the group's campaign was to urge the authorities to apprehend MO1, who has allegedly stolen billions from the rakyat
"Money was stolen from Malaysians, from students, from the police. Police, too, are Malaysians," she said.
"So why aren’t you focusing on the robber, why are you focusing on us, the small fry?"
"We’re nobody, we’re not dangerous; I didn’t bring any weapon except for a piece of paper to tell my friends inside there that this is about our future,” said Anis as seen in the video clip which was recorded last Saturday.
Anis went on to highlight how the money that was allegedly siphoned by MO1 could have been used to fund thousands of students in the country
"I (just) want to tell my friends so that we realise – the whole world knows we have been robbed, why are we still relaxed as though nothing has happened to our country?"
She added that she never had this kind of bravery to speak up in the public but she was convinced that she should no longer stay silent.
"I don’t know why I’m so brave today. (Maybe) because I don’t want my future and that of my friends as well as my children to be bleak because I kept quiet."
“That’s why I’m angry today,” she added.
Meanwhile, the organisers of TangkapMO1 rally are expecting 5,000 participants, a more realistic target than the initial 10,000
Anis said they would stick to the proposed venue at Dataran Merdeka in Kuala Lumpur despite last Friday's police advice for them to look for another location after Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) declined permission for Dataran Merdeka to be used for the rally.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar had said that it would be an offence if the rally is held there.
"We have informed all the respective parties. We will proceed with Dataran Merdeka," Anis told theSun when contacted yesterday, 23 August.
The TangkapMO1 rally is expected to be held on 27 August at Dataran Merdeka from 2pm to 5pm with a black and white theme
