Who Put These 300 Multicoloured Objects On A Beach In Johor?
Anyone has any idea what this unidentified object could be?
More than 300 mysterious colourful objects have been found on top of rocks near the Tanjung Balau, Johor beach
The colourful objects which appeared like carvings of the Borobodur temple were discovered on Wednesday and has since drew various reactions and speculations among residents and visitors including the possibility of a ritual offering to spirits.
thestar.com.myIn case you were wondering what the Borobodur temple looks like and why they're comparing it to such a building:
The Borobudur Temple Compounds is one of the greatest Buddhist monuments in the world, and was built in the 8th and 9th centuries AD during the reign of the Syailendra Dynasty. The monument is located in the Kedu Valley, in the southern part of Central Java, at the centre of the island of Java, Indonesia.
unesco.orgThe objects looks most similar to the structure called the stupa on the Borobudur temple. Borobudur is built as a single large stupa and, when viewed from above, takes the form of a giant tantric Buddhist mandala, simultaneously representing the Buddhist cosmology and the nature of mind.
The temple features seventy-two small stupas surrounding one large central stupa. Each stupa is bell-shaped and pierced by numerous decorative openings. Statues of the Buddha sit inside the pierced enclosures.
Tanjung Balau Fisherman Museum assistant curator Muhammed Iqbal Rosli said the incident was discovered when he was accompanying a state government representative to the location
He said the appearance of the objects had indirectly affected the geological scenery at Tanjung Balau, especially when the museum was now in the process of gazetting the location as a historical site.
"We do not know who placed them there and what ceremony or ritual was conducted."
Mohd Fauzi Bachok, Kadi Kota Tinggi said his team will be investigating into this matter to ascertain if it also involved the Islamic community.
sinarharian.com.myFor now, the museum has yet to move them as they are too many of them and they are trying to avoid any untoward incidents
Unfortunately, the number of objects are decreasing with time after the objects were swept away by the tide.
