Prior to her marriage to Sultan of Selangor Sharafuddin Idris Shah on 31 August 2016, she was an RTM news presenter.
The programme's producer, Khairul Azli Rahim, told Astro Awani that he was honoured and excited that Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin delivered a news segment he edited.
"This is the first time Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin appeared on television since she became the Tengku Permaisuri Selangor five years ago," he said.
Many fans - especially those who have always followed her segment on the news back in the days - were delighted to witness her brief return
One person wrote, "I've always enjoyed watching her report the news since I was a kid. I would wait until 8.30pm, but the moment the sports news segment starts, I would change the channel."
Another netizen commented, "Oh god, I miss watching Tengku Permaisuri presenting the news. Reminds me of my secondary school years."
"A legendary news anchor in a class of her own. Her face is gentle and very elegant. She's still so talented. Someone I admire and is an inspiration for me to chase my dreams and ambitions. I've been cured of longing after her appearance just now. Congratulations, [Tengku Permaisuri]."
