To reward their loyalty and dedication to the company, a diamond tycoon in India recently gifted cars worth up to Rs 5,380,000 (about RM305,557) each to 600 of his employees.
Savji Dholakia, owner of diamond conglomerate Hari Krishna Exports, presented Renault KWID and Maruti Suzuki Celerio to the company's diamond artists and diamond engineers as their Deepavali gifts on 25 October.
The car models are reported to have cost up to Rs 4,400,000 (RM249,942) and Rs 5,380,000 (RM305,557) respectively.
In addition to the cars, about 1,000 more employees were also reported to have received gifts in the form of cash deposits and apartments
GQ India reported that out of the 5,500 employees who are a part of the company, 4,000 had already received their gifts prior to the ceremony.
This is not the first time Dholakia has made headlines for giving expensive gifts to his staff, having done so since 2012, when he gave three employees cars for their outstanding performance
According to Hindustan Times, the generous tycoon gave 491 cars and 207 flats to his employees in 2014. Two years later, in 2016, he presented 1,260 cars, 400 flats, and pieces of jewellery to employees as Deepavali gifts.
In September this year, Dholakia also awarded Mercedes Benz SUVs to three senior employees who have served at the company for 25 years.
