UOB Employee In Kepong Branch Who Tested Positive For COVID-19 Had Returned From Sabah

The man had visited Lahad Datu and Semporna.

An employee who works at a UOB branch in Bandar Menjalara, Kepong has tested positive for COVID-19

A notice explaining that the branch is temporarily closed from today, 22 September until 5 October was shared on social media.

In the meantime, it states that the bank will undergo deep cleaning processes and will resume operations on 6 October.

The employee, who is a mortgage specialist, had just returned from Sabah to Kuala Lumpur

According to UOB's statement, the man had visited Lahad Datu and Semporna between 10 September and 13 September.

"We have conducted contact tracing and all colleagues and customers who came into close contact with the confirmed case will be contacted by the end of the day," reads the statement.

All those who were in contact are required to self-quarantine for 14 days while monitoring their health and waiting for further instructions from authorities.

"We are working closely with the health authorities on any further follow-up measures that may be required."

Customers are urged to handle bank-related matters on UOB's website, or head to the Damansara Uptown and Kota Damansara branches.
