Vacation Turns Deadly As Couple Die After Landslide Hits Luxury Resort In Tambun

The bodies were found in the jacuzzi room of the villa around 10am today, 10 November.

Following a landslide that struck a luxury resort in Perak, The Banjaran Hotsprings Retreat, two guests were found buried alive

According to Free Malaysia Today, the victims have been identified as 39-year-old Ooi Chee Wei and his partner, 32-year-old Lee Tze Jun.

Perak acting police chief Datuk Goh Boon Keng explained that the bodies were found in the jacuzzi room of the villa around 10am today, 10 November.

The Perak Fire and Rescue Department worked with Special Tactical Operation and Rescue Team of Malaysia (STORM) to help locate the victims

Bernama reported that the Fire and Rescue Department received information about the incident around 1.28am.

A spokesman said, "We immediately deployed a team from the Ipoh Fire and Rescue station for rescue work upon receiving a call about the incident."

The landslide that hit the victims' villa was triggered by heavy rains since yesterday

New Straits Times reported that the remains will be taken to the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital (HRPB) for post-mortems.
