In December 2016 and January 2017, there has been a string of reports in regards to cars going against the flow of traffic in Singapore, killing at least one motorist
The incidents were all captured by dashboard cameras and uploaded onto Facebook or Singapore community motoring sites like roads.sg and Beh Chia Lor.
One of the incidents proved fatal on 19 December 2016 when a Mercedes-Benz barrelled down the Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE) in the wrong direction, killing a motorist and injuring three others.
Well, it appears that this worrying phase has seeped over to Malaysia, specifically in this highway near Taiping, Perak
A Facebook video posted on Wednesday, 8 March, shows a car speeding against traffic on a two-lane highway near the town of Taiping in Perak.
At the time of writing, the clip has garnered over 100,000 views, with over 1,300 shares.
Chuah Cheah Choon, whose dashboard camera had recorded the video, was cruising along the right lane when he was alarmed by the sight of a grey car speeding towards him
The grey car, which looked like a Nissan Sentra, forced Chuah to slam on the brakes and moved quickly to the left lane, causing another car on that lane to swerve to the side of the road.
A traffic policeman on a bike - also going against the traffic flow - was seen on the emergency lane moments later, presumably chasing after the offending vehicle
