A video of an instructor slapping and kicking his trainee in Kedah has gone viral on Facebook

The video was uploaded by a Facebook user under the name Zakqwan Taman Suria yesterday, 27 February at around 11am.

The video is believed to have been taken at a technical institute in Kubang Pasu, Kedah, according to NST.

Zakqwan's Facebook post has almost 28,000 shares and more than 3,300 likes to date.

In the 1:36-minute video, the instructor was first seen explaining to one of his students on the mechanics of maintaining an air-conditioning unit.

In just a matter of seconds, the instructor turned to violence, and started kicking, slapping, and pulling the ears of the student.

All the while, the instructor was heard calling his student, "bodoh" (stupid) repeatedly.

At one point, the student, who was kneeling down while checking the air-conditioning unit, fell down after being kicked by his instructor.

The video has drawn the ire of netizens, with many saying that it is completely unacceptable for an instructor to use any form of violence when educating a student

Most people said that kicking and violence is not the way to educate someone.

"Is it really necessary to hit him on the head and kick him like that? The student wasn't even retaliating and yet the instructor continued scolding him in front of his friends. How would the student feel? And calling him stupid on top of it. Can't you teach him properly - he's an adult, it's like you're torturing him," read one of the comments on the video.
