"He deserves each and every tribute from everyone. We can see that many people are crying here and even brought flower bouquets and are paying their respects," a fan said.
Well-wishers laid flowers and other tributes to actor Matthew Perry on Monday, 30 October, outside the apartment building exterior used in the hit TV show Friends, which was set in New York City's Greenwich Village neighbourhood
Perry, 54, was born in Massachusetts and largely raised in Canada after his parents divorced.
He played Chandler Bing for 10 seasons on Friends, and was found dead in a hot tub at his Los Angeles home Saturday afternoon, 28 October, media reports said citing police.
The series made international celebrities out of all six castmates, who played a close-knit group of young adults who spent time at each other's apartments and at "Central Perk", a fictional Manhattan cafe.
Foreign grad student Rohit Boggarapu talked about how he connected to the show.
"Even though I am from the Southern part of India, from a small town, I really know Friends and I watch it four to five times. It's very sad to see Mr Perry passing," he said.
