Recently, someone allegedly threw a shopping trolley from the upper floor of Block 90 at the Putra Ria Apartment in Bangsar.

The trolley narrowly missed a woman but ended up damaging a motorcycle.

The incident occurred at about 5pm on Saturday, 25 May.

Mohd Kusairi Ishak, 50, the owner of the motorcycle, said he believes the trolley was thrown by an adult, reported the New Straits Times.

"I don't think it was kids doing it or due to heavy wind. Some residents claimed that the trolley was thrown from Level 10, but we don't have proof," he told the English newspaper.

According to Kusairi, similar incidents involving junk and rubbish have occurred several times in the past.

"The habit of throwing junk or rubbish has not been stamped out and actions could not be taken because of the difficulty in identifying the culprits. I hope the residents will stop this dangerous habit," he said.

Kusairi, however, expressed relief that the trolley hit his motorcycle instead of the woman, who was buying yong tau fu at a nearby stall

"Because of my motorcycle, she couldn't stand there waiting for the food. Luckily, the trolley hit my motorcycle instead of her. It's terrifying to think what could have happened if that trolley had hit her," he said.

Back in January 2018, a 15-year-old boy died on the spot after being struck by a falling chair at a low-cost apartment in Pantai Dalam.

The teen, identified as S Sathiwaran, was about to enter Block 102 at the Seri Pantai People's Housing Project with his mother when a blue office chair, thrown from an upper floor, directly struck the victim.
