Video Shows Caucasian Man Refusing To Wear Mask & Creating A Scene At Ampang Supermarket
Wearing face masks in public places is mandatory in Malaysia.
An 18-second video clip has gone viral
The clip was taken inside the Village Grocer M City Ampang branch, on Saturday 16 April, and later shared on social media platforms like TikTok and Twitter. It was also shared privately with SAYS last night.
In it, a maskless man is heard arguing with the security guards at the supermarket. When he is asked to wear a face mask inside the premises, he refuses and then tells the guard to, "f#ck off!".
The clip then cuts to a next location inside the supermarket
It shows the man facing an employee and one of the security guards, both of whom remain calm.
The Caucasian man is heard asking, "what are you gonna do?" and when the guard doesn't say anything, the man exclaims, "exactly!" as if to signal that they can't do anything anyway.
He then gives the guard the middle finger and walks away.
However, before walking out of the supermarket, he makes sure to, once again, utter: "f#ck off!".
Wearing face masks in public places is mandatory in Malaysia
Those who refuse to wear one can be fined under Rule 16 (1) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Rules 2021. It carries a fine of up to RM1,000 or a jail term of up to six months or both.
