Unruly Shoppers Force Vincci To Cancel Warehouse Sale
Who said shopping is a walk in the park?
In a turn of events, what was supposed to be a normal warehouse sale, was turned into a messy episode, all to shop for shoes on sale
Vincci, a popular footwear brand in Malaysia, under the house of Padini, announced on 29 September that they will be holding their annual warehouse sale from 2 till 4 October, for three days
The big sale was supposed to be from 10 a.m. till 6 p.m from the 2nd till the 4th and was set to be held at No 3, Jln Jururancang U1/21, Hicom Glenmarie Industrial Park, in Shah Alam.
The highlight of the warehouse sale was that all the shoes will be priced at only RM15.
On the first day of the sale, yesterday, a massive crowd of people gathered outside the sale venue while waiting for the sale to start.
Unfortunately, things took a wild turn.
After a few hours of waiting, the crowd grew impatient and photos of some of the shoppers climbing over the walls started surfacing.
In the midst of the messy affair, the management of Vincci quickly took to the internet to inform all shoppers that the sale will canceled for the first day, citing inability to manage the huge number of people as the reason for cancellation
While the enthusiastic fans were still reeling from the disappointment of the sale's first day cancellation, just four hours later, Vincci declared that the sale is officially cancelled for the proposed remaining days too
Meanwhile, unhappy shoppers have expressed their dissatisfaction over the way Vincci handled the whole matter
While expressing their unhappiness over the cancellation of the sale, some shoppers also suggested that the Vincci management learn from other brands that organise warehouse sales without major glitches
