A 52-year-old woman was arrested on 30 June after releasing her dog inside a mosque in Bogor, Indonesia
According to New Straits Times, the incident happened in Masjid Al Munawaroh, Bogor at around 2pm on Sunday.
She has since been arrested by local police and brought to the Bogor police station to facilitate investigations.
The woman, identified only by her initials SM, had stormed the mosque with a dog to look for her husband
The Jakarta Post reported that worshippers at the mosque then asked the woman to leave the premises, but to no avail.
The woman then dropped the canine onto the floor and let it run around in the mosque, although dogs are considered unclean in Islam.
The woman then continued demanding to see her husband despite efforts to push her towards the exit.
A crowd later gathered around SM and two worshippers as they grappled with each other.
She was later arrested by the police after worshippers alerted local authorities of the situation.
SM had suspected that her husband was going to marry his second wife in the mosque
According to New Straits Times, she was attempting to stop her husband from having his second marriage solemnised at the mosque.
Wearing her shoes, SM also yelled loudly in the mosque and demanded to know why mosque officials allowed her husband's second marriage to take place.
A preliminary investigation by local police found that the woman is suffering from depression.
