Malaysian gaming legend Chuan, who plays for Invictus Gaming took the time to thank local fans for all the support
Straight after the finals, Team iG (Invictus Gaming) were asked a few questions on stage about their victory by the emcee of the event.
Emcee: To Burning, what made you come out of retirement after TI4?
Burning: I received an invitation to play again. And I really want to compete professionally again.
Emcee : To Luo, what makes iG different compared to all the other American, European or any other teams in the world.
Luo: Let burning answer that.
Chuan: Because we have Burning.
Emcee: To Ferrari, earlier in the winners bracket finals post game interview, Chuan said that no one can beat Ferrarri 1v1 in the mid lane. Why is that so?
Ferrari: It's all thanks to the protection I receive from my teammates.
Emcee: Chuan, what do you have to say to your fellow Malaysians after winning the Major All Stars?
Chuan: Terima Kasih and Malaysia Boleh!
Invictus Gaming won a cool USD47,000 (RM173,000) for winning while runner-up Team Empire walked away with USD15,600 (RM57,600)

Day 1: Southeast Asia's biggest DOTA 2 tournament had a major setback after technical difficulties hampered the event throughout the day
The event started off with a slight delay, but all that was forgotten when the first match between Team Invasion and Na'Vi started, which was eventually won by Na'Vi
The second match then proceeded but it was disrupted midgame due to some issues with the connectivity
While @MajorAllStars is sorting out the issues. The replay of game one between Team Redemption and Team Empire will be streamed. #Dota2

The tournament faced issues as early in the day as the internet connection died shortly after the second match between Na’ Vi and Invasion. Na’ Vi had won the first round, and the two teams had just completed their drafts. After the difficulties began, Russian caster v1lat was claiming that there was an open fire in Na’ Vi’s booth; although our writer on the scene confirmed that the was no fire anywhere in the building.
lowyat.netFans and players were left clueless waiting for hours with no updates from the organisers before being told that the tournament will be continued tomorrow
Players and fans waited patiently for several hours for the problems to be fixed, only to be told that the day has been cancelled and that the tournament would continue tomorrow.
lowyat.netAn unverified source close to the organisers revealed that this was due to someone plugging a portable air-con unit into the same extension cord as the routers and switches
A source close to the event organisers of the Major All Starts Dota 2 Tournament has revealed that the electrical surge that crippled the internet connection was caused by a portable air conditioning unit. It is unknown where the air-con came from or why it was connected to the same extension cord. It turns out that a person had connected a portable air-con unit to the same extension cord as the routers and switches, which caused an electrical surge that burned out the LAN cables. We were unable to access the backstage area to verify this for ourselves, as security was only allowing event personnel into the secured areas.
lowyat.netFans attending the show tweeted their frustration at the lack of updates and the organisation of the event

Day one short summary. @MajorAllStars :( pic.twitter.com/4VXK2jKvGf
— Andrew Yatsenko (@xeozor21) March 20, 2015
The issue stemmed from an electrical surge, which caused LAN cables to cease working
So it's confirmed. #majorallstars is facing technical difficulties due to an electrical power surge. Hope this is fixed for the weekend!
— Latest on SAYS (@saysdotcom) March 20, 2015
It turned out that there was an electrical surge at the routers that caused the LAN cables to stop functioning. The cables have been replaced, but the organisers deemed it too late in the day to continue playing.
lowyat.netThere were some fans that were more sympathetic, understanding that glitches happen but was keen to note that everything should be checked first for a major tournament
Josh, an avid gamer told SAYS "It is expected that a tournament will have delays and have minor issues with glitches. But to have one on a scale like this is not normal. The organisers must make sure that the hardware and software are tested first".
Fans will be looking forward to a better day two and hope that all glitches and problems will be solved by them
Event organisers have declined to comment on the matter, but it looks like this appears to be an unfortunate series of events. The network connection should be restored by tomorrow when the Major All Stars Dota 2 Tournament continues in the morning.
