Dodgeball Malaysia Women's Team Does Country Proud By Winning Malaysia Its First Gold
Way to go, girls! :D
They were competing against the best of the world
And they did not disappoint the country.
While Dodgeball Malaysia Female team won the Gold after beating the mighty Canada in the finals yesterday, 22 October, the Male team secured a Silver.
Last year, the women's team was ranked 3rd, while the men's team was ranked 2nd in the world behind the United States after losing 7-5 in the finals in 2015 World Championships in Las Vegas
Prior to the start of this year's World Championships in Melbourne, Malaysia Women's team captain Janel Chong had noted that they were "not favourites".
However, she had promised they are "going there to win", and the Women's team has truly lived to their promise.
The four-day championship saw 12 teams competing against each other and was sanctioned by the World Dodgeball Federation
“One Gold and One Silver... Next year we’ll bring back double gold. Once again we did our best and we hope we did our Malaysia proud,” the championship’s official Facebook page posted yesterday.
