National shuttler Kisona Selvaduray has stunned her childhood idol Saina Nehwal at the Swiss Open 2022 to advance to the quarter-finals
The 23-year-old, who has been under fire for her poor form lately, scored one of her biggest wins in recent times after defeating the 32-year-old Indian shuttler in a memorable match this morning, 25 March.
Kisona's win, 17-21, 21-13, 21-13, at the Swiss Open 2022 is particularly remarkable considering the former world number one had dominated the Malaysian in straight sets at the Thailand Open 2021.
This is also the first World Tour quarter-finals for Kisona since the 2018 Orleans Masters.

Her win against Saina should allow Kisona to go against Supanida with some confidence later today.
The world number 64 hasn't really been at her best since winning the 2019 Southeast Asian Games.
