Roberto Mancini has been sacked as manager of Manchester City on 13 May 2013, almost a year after the club won the the English Premier League title.
The club said that apart from qualifying for next season's Champions League, Mancini has failed to achieve any of the clubs targets this year. Manchester City finished a distant second in the Premier League behind Manchester United.
Manchester City has failed to progress from the group stage of the Champions League for the second successive season. They were also beaten 1-0 by Wigan in the FA Cup final on 11 May 2013.

Mancini's sacking gets mixed reactions
Manchester City's first team squad expressed 'relief' and 'delight' at Mancini's dismissal. Senior players were reported to have privately voiced out their annoyance with Mancini’s training and management methods.
It was reported that Mancini failed to create togetherness between himself and the players, and made no attempt to have any relationship with any of his players.
