Yesterday, during his bid to make it to the men's singles semi-finals at the World Championships, Daren Liew injured his ankle after he slipped and fell, grimacing in pain. It seemed all over for Daren.

However, the Kuala Lumpur native didn't let his pain bother him.

An injured but fighter Daren proved he is stronger than his pain to beat Japan's Kanta Tsuneyama 22-20, 21-23, 22-20 in a match that lasted for one hour and twenty minutes.

Rejoicing in agonising pain.
