We Tried Acer's 3D Screen And More At The Predator League And Our Minds Were Blown
A leap forward in gaming and productivity.
Acer brought a taste of CES at the Acer Asia Pacific Predator League 2025
CES, short for the Consumer Electronics Show, is the world's biggest and most influential tech event, held every year in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Think of it as a massive showcase for the latest and greatest in technology, from TVs and smartphones to self-driving cars and artificial intelligence. It's where companies unveil their newest products, innovations, and concepts that will shape the future of technology.
And SAYS had the opportunity to check out what Acer showed off at CES, right here in Malaysia.
Your everyday laptop gets an AI upgrade, pearl shells, and more
Acer has unveiled refreshed versions of its popular Swift Go and Aspire Vero 16 laptops, focusing on enhancing performance, power efficiency, and sustainable design. These updates cater to the needs of modern users who demand powerful yet eco-conscious devices.
The Swift Go 14 and Swift Go 16 laptops are designed for productivity and portability
They boast streamlined AI task execution, allowing for efficient multitasking and handling of demanding applications. With multi-day battery life, users can stay productive without constantly searching for a power outlet. These features are packed into ultra-thin and light designs, making them ideal for professionals and students on the go.
Acer continues its commitment to sustainability with the Aspire Vero 16, a carbon-neutral laptop that breaks new ground by incorporating bio-based oyster shell material into its construction
Acer is really stepping up its eco-friendly game with the Aspire Vero 16. They've made the laptop's case from a mix of recycled plastic and plant-based materials — over 70% of it, in fact!
Even the touchpad is made from recycled ocean-bound plastic, and they've slimmed down some of the materials to use fewer materials overall, which means less resource consumption.
Gamers can rejoice as the Predator lineup sees a substantial increase in power
The Predator Helios 16 AI and Predator Helios 18 AI are designed for gamers who demand the absolute best performance and visuals.
These laptops can be configured with up to an Intel Core Ultra 9 processor, the latest and greatest from Intel, and NVIDIA's next-generation GeForce RTX 50 series laptop GPUs. This combination delivers incredible gaming performance, allowing you to experience the latest games at their highest settings.
The Predator Helios 16 AI and 18 AI offer a choice between stunning OLED displays for vibrant colours and deep blacks, or Mini LED panels for incredible brightness and contrast. And for those who value tactile feedback, these laptops feature Acer's MagKey 4.0 mechanical keyboards with swappable switches, allowing you to customise your typing experience.
To keep all this high-end hardware running cool, Acer has implemented its advanced 6th Gen AeroBlade 3D fan technology. These fans utilise the world's thinnest cooling fan blades, measuring a mere 0.05mm, to maximise airflow and minimise noise.
Joining the lineup is the all-new Predator Helios Neo 165 AI, a more budget-friendly option that still packs a punch
It features a sleek new design, measuring less than 19.9mm thin, while packing a powerful combination of cutting-edge components, including an Intel Core Ultra 9 processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 series GPU. The Helios Neo 165 AI also boasts a brilliant OLED display with a lightning-fast 240Hz refresh rate, ensuring smooth and responsive gameplay.
Arguably the most interesting of the lineup, Acer SpatialLabs took centre stage during the preview
The Acer SpatialLabs lineup may be the most interesting product feature out of all the previewed products. The SpatialLabs product features freeviewing three-dimensional display, or in other words, 3D display without the need for glasses.
Not much information was revealed regarding the SpatialLabs display, but as far as we know, the monitor is offered in different tiers. The flagship version, which is the 'Pro' display, features a 4K display in a 27-inch screen, offering crisp and clear 3D images and video. The display is also running at a buttery 180Hz, making it a great monitor for both productivity and gaming.
Another product in the SpatialLabs lineup that we tried was the Predator SpatialLabs View 27, a 3D display focused on an immersive gaming experience. We were able to try the monitor at the preview session and were impressed by how smooth and seamless it was to switch from boring 2D display to an immersive 3D display. Playing Street Fighter 6 became extra fun as the characters popped up from the arena. Combos and skills were more visible and pronounced. It was an entirely new experience.
We can only imagine how smooth and immersive it would look when playing games of certain genres such as first-person shooters or racing titles.
Speaking to an Acer representative, the 3D display was recently announced at CES and only revealed in Malaysia at the Predator League. The prices of these displays remain undisclosed for the time being.
