Passengers and taxi drivers will not be able to haggle the final fee as it is all handled by the app.

"The rate is almost similar to Grab and we have three different categories of taxi ride[s] they can choose from - budget, multi-purpose vehicle (MPV), and premium taxis," said Penang Taxi Associate Association chief Mohamad Shahimi Hadzri.

Currently, 500 taxi drivers have signed up to use the app

"We have more than 2,000 taxi drivers in Penang so we hope more drivers will register under this app to offer this service to users," said Mohamad Shahimi, reported Malay Mail.

He also assured passengers that taxi drivers using 'cALLme Cab' will strictly follow the rates displayed in the app.

The app can be downloaded on the App Store or Google Play Store.
