Last Tuesday, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman confirmed that Tang Tan is leaving Apple

As the design chief, Tan played an important role in creating many Apple patents and was a key part of developing the iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch.

Now, he is set to join LoveFrom, a design company founded by another former Apple chief designer, Jony Ive, following his departure from Apple, where he previously served as chief design officer.

Tan will be working on a new project involving artificial intelligence (AI) hardware at LoveFrom

He will lead the AI project's design team, with OpenAI CEO Sam Altman providing the software running underneath.

Earlier this year, the former LoveFrom design chief, Evans Hankey, left the company after just a few years in the role

Now, Tan is set to fill the position. Though he hasn't officially departed from Apple yet, his responsibilities have reportedly been divided earlier this month.

He is expected to fully move to LoveFrom in February 2024.
