Touch 'n Go has introduced its new Enhanced RFID lane at the Ampang-Kuala Lumpur Elevated Highway (AKLEH) Dato' Keramat toll plaza to help ease traffic congestion

The upgraded lane is easy to spot, as it features a distinct gold star symbol on the RFID signage.

According to the company, the system is powered by a homegrown platform called Titan Flow, which combines RFID scanning with Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR), artificial intelligence, machine learning, and LiDAR technology.

Touch 'n Go said the Enhanced RFID lane achieves a 99.98% vehicle detection accuracy under real-world conditions

Drivers can pass through the lane at speeds exceeding 50km/h, which reportedly improves overall traffic flow by up to 30%.

The upgrade works seamlessly with existing RFID tags and is supported by the TNG ewallet SOS Balance feature

The SOS Balance feature has helped around 36 million users avoid being stranded due to insufficient balance.

This multi-layered verification approach ensures vehicles are accurately detected, serving as a stepping stone towards the country's upcoming Multi-Lane Fast Flow (MLFF) barrier-free tolling system.

Touch 'n Go plans to introduce at least 10 more Enhanced RFID lanes across Malaysian highways by the end of the year.
