But the circulating report that says Dong Nguyen has committed suicide after taking down the insanely popular free app is nothing but just a humourless rumour

The poorly written article, with a dateline in San Francisco (Nguyen lives in Hanoim Vietnam), also claims 7 others across the country have taken their own lives in “Flappy Bird”-related suicides

The site describes itself as “a combination of real shocking news and satire news to keep its visitors in a state of disbelief.”

The reports follow an explosion of anger on Twitter and Facebook after Nguyen, claiming “Flappy Bird” “ruined my simple life,” took the game down on Sunday.

Tweets purportedly from Nguyen himself were the basis for suicide rumour. However, the tweets did not come from Nguyen, whose last message was posted on Sunday.

While some of the death threats were aimed at Dong himself, some players said they would kill themselves if Flappy Bird was removed from app stores.
