Google Is Working On A Service That Will Wait On Hold For You
The feature will help save your precious time by waiting for busy customer service agents on your behalf.
Google is developing a new Search feature that will wait on hold during customer service calls
According to 9to5Google, the "Talk to a Live Representative" feature is capable of alerting users when a customer representative becomes available.
The feature will help save your precious time by waiting for busy customer service agents on your behalf.
Here's how the feature works on the Google app and on Chrome
Step 1: Access the Feature
When you search for customer service numbers, Google may display a "Talk to a live representative" prompt in Knowledge Panels. Click on this prompt to initiate the process.
Step 2: Specify Your Reason
Next, you'll be prompted to specify the reason for your call. For airlines, options may include updating existing bookings, addressing luggage issues, handling cancelled or delayed flights, and more.
Step 3: Provide Your Phone Number
After selecting your reason, provide your phone number. Google will send SMS updates regarding the status of your call. You'll also see an estimated wait time on the request page.
Step 4: Submit Your Request
Once you've entered your phone number, submit your request. You can cancel it at any time if needed.
Step 5: Wait for Google to Call You
Google will then place the call for you and wait on hold until a customer service representative is available. Once a representative is ready to assist you, Google will call you so you can begin your conversation.
The feature is currently available only to Search Labs users on the Google app and Chrome
It supports several major companies in the US and could potentially become a standard offering in the future once it's rolled out worldwide.
This simple, user-friendly innovation comes as a breath of fresh air amidst the rapid expansion of AI and the rise of crypto scams.
