Grab Is Now Testing Bike-Hailing Services In KL
Currently, it's only being tested in select few areas.
GrabBike — a motorcycle ride-hailing service by offered by Grab — is now under test in the KLCC, Bukit Bintang, Pudu and Chow Kit areas
The bike-hailing service being tested around the areas in Kuala Lumpur by Grab is part of the Malaysian government's six-month pilot programme to test demand for the service in the country.
While GrabBike is not yet available outside the above-mentioned areas, a check by SAYS found that the option to select 'Cab' on the Grab app was changed to 'Transport' with the design featuring 'Cab + Bike'.
The rates are currently set at a base fare of RM3.70 for trips under 3km
The above screenshot was shared by SoyaCincau, which said that GrabBike is also charging a service charge of 30 cents. For subsequent kilometres travelled between 3km to 5.5km, the charge is 55 cents for each kilometre. However, for distances above 5.5km, the charge is RM1/km.
Additionally, Grab also mentioned that surge pricing will be charged during periods of high demand.
As one of the conditions imposed on ride-hailing companies, Grab is offering its female users to choose to ride with a female rider
