Your prayers have been answered. It's FINALLY happening. You may now upload GIFs on Facebook!
The good news was announced over the weekend
However, keep in mind that only GIF links work with the feature, not GIF uploads. So, you'll not be able to upload your own GIFs for now.
Also, your GIF links need to have .gif at the back to make it work. Yeah, we had to say that just in case.
The feature works on Facebook's mobile application, but not on your mobile browser
Bad news for Facebook brand pages though! GIF links will only work on personal pages... for now.
“We built support for animated GIFs to help people express themselves in fun new ways on Facebook. Like many features that we release on Facebook, we want to ensure that this drives a great experience for people first before rolling it out more widely. While Pages cannot currently post GIFs, we are exploring ways to enable this in the future,” said Facebook in a statement.forbes.com
The feature is new and it might have a few glitches here and there but we're pretty darn excited because you know we can't live without GIFs...
