Seeing 'Online' Instead Of 'online' On WhatsApp? It's Just A Test
WhatsApp confirmed with SAYS Tech that the design change was just a test.

Several WhatsApp users recently began noticing subtle changes in their status updates
Many discovered that WhatsApp had changed "online" to "Online" and "typing..." to "Typing...".
Some, according to the Mirror, were "fuming" at the change that was made by WhatsApp without notifying its users.
Despite being a minute change, plenty claimed that the subtle difference bothered them.
WhatsApp has confirmed with SAYS Tech that the change in the status design is just a test and it's only temporary
According to a WhatsApp representative that SAYS Tech spoke to, the default status settings will be rolled back gradually.
"It was a test and will revert back to normal. Should reflect soon," the WhatsApp representative, who declined to be named, confirmed with SAYS Tech.
This explains why the change was only visible to selected users both on Android and iOS devices, with the changes not visible on the web and desktop versions.
The test is interestingly timed with the launch of WhatsApp's chat filters feature
In a post on Facebook on 16 April, Mark Zuckerberg, who is Meta’s founder, chairperson, and chief executive officer said that the new WhatsApp feature will help its users find important messages quickly.
"Rolling out chat filters on WhatsApp so you can find important messages fast. Thanks for the reminder, John," Zuckerberg announced. His post included a melting face emoji.
The WhatsApp chat filters will now appear at the top of your chat list. You can choose between these three filters to quickly check your messages: All, Unread, and Groups.
"We believe filters will make it easier for people to stay organized and find their most important conversations and help navigate through messages more efficiently. We’ll continue to build more options to help you focus on what matters most. These have just started to roll out to users, and will be available to everyone in the coming weeks," a statement from WhatsApp read.
