TikTok Wants To Beat Instagram With Its New Photo App
TikTok Notes will allow its users to share photos.
Social media users will soon be able to share their photos in a new app called TikTok Notes
TikTok is currently testing this new app in an obvious move to take on social media giant, Instagram, that's popular among Gen Zs and Millennials.
Some lucky TikTok users have already gained access to TikTok Notes
Based on screenshots by some users, the social media platform sends a notification alerting them that the images they post on TikTok may be reposted on TikTok Notes.
In the screenshots, there's an option for the users to opt-out.
TikTok is also experimenting with text-based posts and long-form video formats, according to a representative
According to a TechCrunch report, a TikTok representative said that the platform aims to continue innovating to provide the best experience to its users.
"As part of our continued commitment to innovating the TikTok experience, we’re exploring ways to empower our community to create and share their creativity with photos and text in a dedicated space for those formats," the TikTok representative said.
Meanwhile, the platform is already allowing its users to upload videos that are as long as 30 minutes, in a bid to take on YouTube.
