The Sony PlayStation Portal, announced nearly a year ago, is set to be launched in Malaysia. According to the official PlayStation blog, Sony has shared the pricing and availability details for the Portal in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand.

The PlayStation Portal is a remote-play accessory for the PlayStation 5, enabling you to stream your games on a handheld device over a WiFi network.

It features an 8-inch LCD screen with a 1080p resolution at 60fps, and it includes a DualSense wireless controller with adaptive triggers and haptic feedback. To use the Portal, you'll need a reliable WiFi connection, as it doesn't support 4G or 5G mobile connectivity. However, it can be used outside your home network as long as you have access to WiFi with at least 5Mbps; for the best experience, 15Mbps is recommended.

The Portal has built-in speakers and a 3.5mm headphone jack, but it lacks Bluetooth support, relying solely on PlayStation Link wireless technology. This means you'll need to pair it with Pulse Explore wireless earbuds or the Pulse Elite wireless headset.

The PlayStation Portal will be available in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand

It will be priced at RM999 and will be officially on the shelves starting on 9 October.

If you're keen on nabbing a unit for yourself, you can place your pre-order starting from 5 August.
