PROTON has expanded its S70 sedan lineup by adding two new budget choices
The Lite and Prime variants have estimated prices starting under RM60,000, making the C-segment car more affordable for local drivers. Buyers can place bookings at all PROTON outlets across Malaysia starting 7 September.
Unlike the turbocharged variants, the Lite and Prime models use an i-GT 1.5-litre engine. Paired with a CVT gearbox, the engine is designed to deliver a smooth, quiet ride built for daily city drives and family trips.

Even with the lower price tag, both models keep key features that define the S70
The car features a wide body with generous rear shoulder room and a flat floor, allowing three adults to sit comfortably in the back. Cabin noise is low, while soft dashboard trim and synthetic leather seats give the cabin a clean look.
PROTON has also added plenty of tech as standard
Drivers get wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an electric parking brake, power windows with anti-trap safety, and remote engine start.

Safety features include six airbags, a reverse camera, and a rear radar system with blind spot warnings, lane change assist, and rear cross-traffic alerts.

PROTON Deputy CEO Dato' Abdul Rashid Musa said the expansion builds on strong sales
The S70 model has averaged sales of more than 2,500 units a month in 2026. Buyers who book and register their car by 31 December will receive an early bird reward.
