Study: Malaysians Spend 48% Of Their Time Awake Looking At Screens
That's an average of eight hours and 17 minutes a day.
Malaysia ranks eighth among countries with the highest average screen time per day
The data analysts at Electronics Hub did a study on the daily average screen times of every major country worldwide, and found that Malaysians spend 48% of their time awake looking at a screen.
That's an average of eight hours and 17 minutes a day.
However, at six hours and 43 minutes, the worldwide average screen time is not far behind
In the study, South Africa came out on top for the most time spent per day on a computer or mobile device, at nine hours and 24 minutes, or 56% of their day.
Meanwhile, Japan was the country with the least screen time, spending only 22% of their day on a screen.
While the study found that Malaysians are mostly on our phones, we also spend a significant time of the day, an average of three hours and 40 minutes, on our computers
The study also noted that screen time is highest in emerging economies in Southeast Asia and South America, indicating that screen time is often used for work.
