We've obtained the details of the first official Tesla vehicle that will be sold in Malaysia ahead of the company's local launch on 20 July
The famed electric car company has confirmed that their all-electric Tesla Model Y will be available in Malaysia.
According to Tesla, the Model Y is the best selling all-electric SUV in the world and one of the safest cars on the road, with a perfect five-star rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
It can also seat up to five passengers and offers up to 2,100 litres of cargo space, so they can easily fit their belongings in the car when they're traveling.
You can expect the Model Y to deliver on performance as well
Equipped with ultra-responsive motors, it only takes 3.7 seconds for the Model Y to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h, with a range of up to 533km from a full charge, Tesla said.
The EV also sports an all-glass roof, an autopilot system, active safety features, and a HEPA air filtration system.

As part of the country's commitment to promoting the adoption of low-carbon mobility and supporting the development of the EV industry, customers will be able to enjoy full import and excise duties exemption for newly registered zero-emission Tesla electric vehicles, as well as a 100% road tax exemption.
Tesla owners will also be eligible for an individual income tax relief of up to RM2,500 on expenses for the year of assessment 2023. This covers expenses related to the cost of installation, rental, purchase, and hire-purchase equipment or subscription fees for EV charging facilities.
The Model Y is available in three variants, and prices start from RM199,000
The available variants are the Model Y (Rear-wheel drive), Model Y Long Range, and Model Y Performance. The estimated delivery date will be in early 2024.
