The LG G3, running on Android 4.4.2 KitKat and a single-SIM configuration, bears a 5.5-inch AH-IPS LCD QHD (1440x2560 pixel) display with a staggering pixel density of 538ppi. LG says the display redefines what is 'real'.

LG says it has reduced the pixel size on the G3's display by 44 percent from conventional full-HD mobile displays, giving it almost twice the pixels. The battery consumption of the display has also been minimised according to LG, with other power drain controls including adaptive optimisation for frame rate, CPU clocking, and timing control.

Below, we list down LG G3's some of the most exciting and powerful features that makes it best in its category.

1. LG G3 has the sharpest screen of any smartphone ever released

The past year or so has been rife with talk of various manufacturers releasing a phone with a 2K or QHD screen, but LG is the first company to walk the walk. LG has managed to pack ridiculous 2,560 x 1,440-pixel resolution into a screen that measures 5.5 inches diagonally, and the result is a remarkable pixel density of 538 pixels per inch. No other mobile screen comes close to offering that level of detail.

2. LG G3's camera is laser-guided

LG’s G3 sports a unique camera feature that is the first of its kind on a smartphone. The G3 has a 13MP snapper equipped with OIS+ and an all-new laser autofocus. The former will help compensate for camera shake and the latter will help you get quicker, more accurate autofocus in darker conditions. There’s a dual LED flash too.

3. Its battery is swappable

Yes, unlike its predecessor the G3 features a removable battery, so if you don’t trust a single 3000mAh power source to keep you going you can pack an extra. That said, LG claims the phone will offer the same lengthy battery life as the G2, which through some manner of electrical wizardry manages to put all other flagship smartphones to shame. The removable back also gives you access to a microSD slot, allowing the 16GB of built-in storage to be expanded.

4. G3 is exactly as powerful as Galaxy S5

LG and Samsung may be bitter rivals, but that hasn’t stopped the former following in the footsteps of the latter when it comes to the G3’s processor setup. It features a quad-core Snapdragon 801 running at 2.5GHz and 2GB of RAM – just like the Samsung Galaxy S5.

5. It comes with Android KitKat and a UI Facelift

The G2’s user interface was cluttered and manic, with far too much going on and a colour scheme reminiscent of carnival time in Rio. Thankfully, LG’s designers have opted for a “less is more” approach this time round, with the G3 offering a flatter, simpler interface laid over the top of Android KitKat. New LG-made apps like Smart Clean, which urges you to delete software you don’t use, and Smart Notice (essentially LG’s take on Google Now), sound genuinely useful, and bloatware has been cut down so that a new 16GB G3 will have 12GB of free space (the G2 had only 10GB).

WATCH: LG G3 Hands-on review

While the new LG G3 is quite an impressive flagship device, LG's own presence in the Malaysian mobile market has not been that impressive

Image via lowyat.net

LG’s relationship with Malaysia is sketchy at best when it comes to bringing their newest flagship device to our market here. It it’s not sinfully late, it’s not happening at all. (Case-in-point: LG G2 and Nexus 5). As a result, Malaysians had to buy grey imported units which are better known as AP sets.

Although, going by a Twitter discussion between an user and LG, it now appears that LG Malaysia would be active once again in the mobile business

A Malaysian Twitter user has tweeted to LG Electronics asking them to bring the G3 to our land like any other excited fans and what do you know? They actually responded to the tweet! The keyword here is “LG G3 will be there soon.”

LG Malaysia have responded to our query, and have confirmed that the G3 will be coming to Malaysia. Unfortunately, we were told that they do not yet have further information regarding exactly when it’ll be launched here. Rest assured that when we do hear anything, you’ll be the first to know.
