Facebook already lets you post on someone's timeline or send a message to show your gratitude, but that won't always be... you know, heartfelt enough. What if you want to go the extra mile? That's where the social network's new Say Thanks feature might come in handy.

The new tool is called Say Thanks, and it lets Facebook's users put together a video filled with photos and other posts between them and a friend. There are a number of different themes to choose from, though it doesn't sound like customization will extent far beyond choosing that and what photos appear.

Facebook is introducing personalized videos that say it for you — just in time for Thanksgiving when many Americans want to express their gratitude. Facebook users can create the "Say Thanks" videos with a couple of clicks, said Cameron Ewing, the design manager on the new feature.

Facebook users can choose from four different themes to further customise the video and to cater to different friends and family

Facebook members select a friend and a theme for the video, such as "old friends," "friends", "complicated" or "family" — each theme has its own music and feel. Similar to how users were able to select and edit photos for their Look Back video, it's possible to choose the photos that most represent your friendship with that person and include wall posts, like "Happy Birthday" messages.

Clearly, Facebook wants more users building and sharing videos on its service. Today, the company announced “Say Thanks,” a new tool that lets you quickly put together personalized video cards using a combination of pre-built themes and your own posts and photos. The end result is an easily shareable — if a bit cheesy — customized video you can post on yours and your friend’s Timelines.

This feature is reminiscent to the "Look Back" feature implemented by Facebook last year. It even helped a father move on when he got to see his late son's "Look Back" video.

Facebook-owned Instagram has also been rolling out new features. Read about it HERE:
